I'm thinking these guys are wanting a change to be slightly more useful than being just a wall ornament ;)

Hey Space,

With my new rifle being a 1:48 twist will it be safe to shoot the projectiles that you use in your Hawken?

Found this one http://www.trackofthewolf.com/Categorie ... x/81/1/HSP

If I could get one that is smaller they just may be the ticket.

Well she is here and definitely looks different to the Hawken and I sure don't mind that :)

Now all I have to do is get the rest of the gear together to be able to send lead nd smoke!!

I have got on order 2 kilo of powder and for projectiles choices 2 box's of Hornady 50 Cal Sabot Low Drag with 45 cal 250 SST @ $23 per 20, as well as giving a go on a couple box's of Hornady 50 Cal Sabot with 45 Cal 300 gr XTP Mag Bullet $23 per 20.

While they are coming in I will be getting the essential maintenance gear ordered within the next month and then it will be smoke time! :D

While out and about I found a LGS that has a goodly stash of percussion cups both Remington and CCI mag Bought CCI ;). Had to figure out what size I needed to go on the nipple, that being number 11 and at the price they are sitting at they wont last long on the LGS shelf even though I was told they rarely sell any I plan on buying the bulk of them over the coming months, better in my safe than theirs ;) ;)

I know I have asked these questions in chat with you, I figured that I would reset them here with the answers so as I have an archive reference to fall back to ;) ;)

OK so here are the questions with the answers!!

Gnome!
also how often do you replace the nipples?

spaceace
always have a spare nipple... you replace them when they get mushroomed and hard to cap. 1 is usually enough and if you are good with a file, you can fix them until they get too short

Gnome!
okies so I will have to get me some spares then
:)

Gnome!
have you ever needed to use a bore scraper ?

spaceace
I have never used a bore scraper

Gnome!
How long does a tube of bore butter last you?

spaceace « Wed 11:19 am »
my tube has lasted 3 years and i've only used about 1/3 of it. i even use it to wipe down the entire exterior of the gun

Gnome!
When you shoot do you clean between shots or leave it till your done for the day and do the full clean?

spaceace
with mine, I brush about every 5 or 6 shots if there's any resistance in loading. just take the nipple out first, or you can plug it up, I also blow through the nipple port before I put it back in as well :ol:

Gnome!
ahh Good sound advice ;) :D

If I have more questions I will throw them at you ;) :D :D
