just picked up the new addition to the house

name is Smaug... wife and youngest daughter don't like the name but me and the older daughter do

a little over a year old

first picture i took was while he was yawning... probably never get another one like that again

still have my other one. they must be kept separate as one will eat the other. the only way they can come together is for a short time for mating. i plan to have them both probed just for confirming their sex. i also would like to build a matching terrarium for the new one

oh, and the previous owner said the snake was aggressive... every time he would try to pick it up, it would strike at him...

i got the snake home and realized that it was pretty much blind as the 2 previous sheds were incomplete and it retained the eye caps... i soaked him in warm water for a few minutes and removed 2 of the layers. then, it fed on a nice little mouse and the next morning it had shed again but retained the caps again... another nice soak this morning and i got all of it off and it can now see clearly
